About Venus Rouhani, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Austin Therapist for Individuals, Couples, and Families

I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor (LMFT-S) and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) offering therapy in Austin, TX, West Lake Hills, and online across Texas.

At Life at Best Counseling, I work with clients through individual therapy, marriage and couples therapy, family therapy and parenting support, infidelity recovery counseling, and premarital counseling. I also support clients with anxiety, stress, life transitions, personal growth, communication, and relationship concerns.

My counseling style is warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I help clients identify patterns, build practical coping skills, and take small steps toward meaningful change.

I’m also a licensed supervisor for new therapist graduates, LMFT-Associates, and LPC-Associates, providing an encouraging and integrative learning environment where developing therapists can strengthen their skills, confidence, and clinical judgment.

A Compassionate, Present-Focused Approach to Therapy

My approach is present-focused, practical, and collaborative. I help you understand what’s affecting your life right now, while also making space to explore past experiences when they’re important to healing and growth.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I take a holistic approach, drawing from different therapeutic methods depending on what actually fits your situation. My work is designed to help you build insight, strengthen communication, manage stress, set healthier boundaries, make thoughtful decisions, and develop more confidence in yourself and your relationships.

Practical Tools for Relief and Long-Term Growth

If you’re looking for relief from conflict, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or relationship stress, I can help you identify small changes you can begin practicing right away, while also supporting deeper growth over time.

In our sessions, we may work on communication skills, emotional regulation, coping strategies, problem-solving, boundaries, trust, decision-making, and ways to respond more effectively to stressful situations. My goal isn’t only to talk about problems, but also to help you develop tools you can use in daily life.

My work supports practical short-term relief as well as the deeper, transformative growth that can come from feeling heard, understood, and empowered.

Professional Background: From Dentistry to Counseling

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a dentist. After a significant shoulder injury made it necessary for me to leave the physical demands of dentistry, I turned toward a new professional path that built on my background in psychology and my long-standing interest in emotional and relational well-being.

My years in healthcare deepened my understanding of the importance of trust, rapport, careful listening, and compassion in helping relationships. I saw how meaningful healing often depends not only on professional knowledge, but also on the quality of the relationship between the person seeking help and the professional providing care.

Today, I bring that same respect for trust, ethics, and whole-person care into my work as a therapist. My counseling approach is compassionate, practical, and present-focused, helping you build insight, strengthen relationships, develop coping skills, and grow in self-confidence.
