With over 49 years of a fulfilling marriage, I bring a unique blend of personal and professional experiences to my practice.
Having navigated the intricacies of life as a dentist before transitioning to psychotherapy, I understand the power of trust and rapport in healing relationships. Forced to leave dentistry due to a major shoulder injury, I seamlessly integrated my psychology degree into my new profession, allowing me to create a therapeutic space built on empowerment and self-confidence.
My commitment to excellence is evident in my many specialized trainings. My therapeutic approach is rooted in providing practical feedback and support to help clients overcome life challenges. I tailor my methods to each individual, drawing from complementary techniques and methodologies to offer a highly personalized experience.
With a Master of Art in Mental Health from St. Edward University, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry, and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, my diverse educational background enriches my therapeutic practice. I hold licenses in Marriage and Family Therapy-Supervision (LMFT-S) and Professional Counseling-Supervision (LPC-S). Additionally, I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Gottman Marriage Therapy, and I am a dedicated provider of Prepare-Enrich Pre-Marital Counseling and Testing.
Beyond my clinical focus on marriage and family therapy, I possess a deep understanding of the complexities of substance abuse, an issue affecting many individuals and families today.
